Luxury 9 Bedroom Ocean View Villa In Ferragudo

Boasting the most amazing Ocean views, this traditional villa has been refurbished throughout, whilst keeping its charm and character. The 9 bedroom property, which remains in the ownership of the Portuguese Royal family, is called "house of the Princess".

With the perfect position for watching the sun sets, perched on the West facing cliffs of Ferragudo, you are guaranteed fabulous views across the estuary and Atlantic Ocean, where the yachts and fishing boats come and go to the nearby marinas in Praia da Rocha and Portimao.

The property is built over three levels and has the benefit of air conditioning in 8 of the 9 of the bedrooms and wireless internet throughout. Central heating is available during the cooler winter months (supplement applies) and the villa has a lift which can be made available on arrival for the moving of luggage (please note, this is switched off during your stay for safety measures).

The Living Areas

This large property has so many areas to enjoy, even when travelling in a large group of up to 19 people, you can easily find a quiet spot to sit and relax for a while. It seems that almost every window has a picture-perfect view of either the Ocean, garden, or surrounding countryside.

The main living room with grand piano, is furnished with comfortable seating and opens out to a large terrace overlooking the Ocean. The walls and display cabinets are decorated with photos and portraits of the Bragança family that own the property and enjoy family holidays here.

There is a second, smaller sitting room.

The formal dining room has seating for 8 people at the main table and a further 10 people on circular tables. There is also a nearby breakfast room with another table and seating.

The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped with two fridge freezers, two dishwashers, large electric oven with 5 ring gas hob, a smaller counter top oven, microwave, filter coffee machine and expresso coffee machine along with all the usual small appliances. Leading off from the kitchen area is a smaller room with extra fridge and freezer available for your use.

On the lower ground floor is a large TV room with satellite TV including a selection of English-speaking channels. Also on this level is a bar area with fridge and guest cloakroom with access put to the pool area and a laundry room with two washing machines and ironing facilities.

Located in the garage is a table tennis table for family entertainment.

The Bedrooms

The 9 bedrooms in this villa sleep a total of up to 19 people. The bedrooms are spread over three floors of the building and although refurbished, some retain the original beds, which incorporate the family coat of arms.

Ground floor bedrooms: 4 bedrooms - all ensuite

(One of the above double bedrooms and one of the above twin bedrooms are located next to each other and have an interconnecting door, allowing this to be used as a family room, for a couple with children)

First floor bedrooms: 4 bedrooms - 3 bathrooms

One double bedroom with an en-suite shower room and garden view, this room also has a foldaway sofa bed suitable for a young child.

Two twin bedrooms with smaller single beds linked by a small sitting room. These two bedrooms share the use of a shared shower/ bathroom which is located off the central sitting room.

Basement/ lower level bedrooms: 1 bedroom - 1 bathroom

One triple bedroom (ideal for teenagers) with smaller single beds and adjacent bathroom and sitting area. Doors lead out from the sitting area onto the poolside terrace. This bedroom does not have air conditioning, but due its situation on the lower level of the property, keeps naturally cool.

Outside Areas

The large swimming pool (heating available) measures 12,5 x 5 metres has a maximum depth of 1,40m, and built-in steps at the shallow end. There are numerous terraces around the pool and property furnished with sun loungers, dining and seating areas all positioned to appreciate the stunning views.  Adjacent to the pool is the bar room and guest WC, there is also a poolside shower.

A charcoal BBQ is provided for your use.

A pathway through the property grounds and secure gate, takes you down a gentle slope to the beautiful Praia Grande beach (approx. 250m).

Please note - There are some unprotected drops from various terraces around the property and grounds - young children need to be supervised at all times.
